The ability of procyanidin B2 to scavenge hydroxyl radical and superoxide anion exceeds that of epicatechin and procyanidin B4. Like other polyphenolic flavonoids with antioxidant activity, procyanidin B2 has diverse cellular effects and potential anti-cancer properties, but these have yet to be examined extensively in animal models or clinical trials. |
